"Half-Tiles" are half-sized regular Plain tiles, designed to "break down" the 1x1 foot grid of the Pedion board and allow for easier strategic positioning of important terrain features (like hills, forests, objectives etc). For instance, if a Scenario calls for a hill in the exact middle of the table, you can swift the respective tile with the help of half tiles.

THIS IS AN ADD-ON - IT ENHANCES A REGULAR PEDION SET

Each Half Tile is 30cm x 15cm (12" x 6") and 1cm deep; they are made from polystyrene and PVC, with Magnetic corners

Plain tiles:

The so-called plain tile will be the most common type of them all, lacking any complex terrain features. Its purpose is to represent open ground, which usually imposes no penalties or modifiers to unit movement. It can also act as a base for any extra terrain pieces (like buildings) the players already have and want to include in their game. This Type will be covered in flocked Grass (temperate, Spring) and will be found in all Pedion Battlefield Sets.
